A beautiful, sleek gel polish manicure that stays on for weeks - that's what we're going for! But sometimes it happens... your polish comes off faster, air bubbles appear or the result is not quite what you hoped for. Don't worry! We list the 5 most common mistakes and give you tips to prevent them.
1. Nails that are too greasy = they come off faster
Oil and dirt are the biggest enemies of gel polish! Make sure your nails are completely clean and free of grease before you start. Use our cleaner for the best adhesion.
2. Too thick a layer of gel polish
More is not always better! Thick layers dry less well under the lamp and can wrinkle or flake off faster. Apply 2-3 thin layers for a perfect result.
3. Not sealing the edges properly
Don't forget to paint the free edge of your nails! By 'sealing' the edge with base coat, color and top coat, you prevent the polish from wearing off or coming off quickly.
4. Not respecting the curing time
Quickly under the lamp and through? Not a good idea! Curing too short ensures that the gel polish does not fully harden, causing it to come off faster.
5. Incorrect removal = damaged nails
Tear or file until your nails become thin? Don't! Always use our remover and wraps to safely remove your gel polish. This way your nails stay healthy and strong.
